Sophie Taeuber-Arp Bolster Giant Hand Variation I
An exclusive, limited edition Bolster Giant Hand created especially for Oroboro by Wiener Times, inspired by the work of Sophie Taeuber-Arp.
The main inspirations for the color theme were the so-called "Compositions verticales-horizontales”, which are considered to be Sophie Tauber-Arp's first works of art. Today it is known that many of these works on paper served as models for textile objects such as carpets or cushion panels, as shown for example in the "Composition verticale-horizontale sur fond blanc" or the "Formes élémentaires en composition verticale-horizontale". Another reference is "Symétrie pathétique", an embroidery Sophie Taeuber-Arp did together with Hans Arp around 1916.
A large hand-shaped pillow composed of Wiener Times signature patchwork and hand-quilting techniques in linen, cotton, and wool blends. The fabrics were sourced from a family-founded Belgian company with a love for craftsmanship and the perfectly imperfect texture of natural materials. The cover has a zipper and is removable/dry cleanable. The bolster comes with a washable insert. Made in Austria.
Note: Each hand is one-of-a-kind, as such the pillow you receive may vary slightly in the composition of the patchwork from the pillow pictured here.
Composition: 100% Linen/Cotton/Wool / Lining 100% Cotton / Filling 100% Polyester Softbausch fiber balls
